Palm Beach State College student wins first place in NAWIC Southeast Region Design Drafting Competition
Palm Beach State College student Anna Moser has earned first place in the Southeast region of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Education Foundation Design Drafting Competition, an annual event recognizing exceptional talent in architectural drafting and design.
Her first-place finish qualifies her to compete at the national level, representing Palm Beach State and the region among the nation’s top student designers. She also received an award of $400.
The regional winners now advance to the NAWIC National Competition, scheduled to take place in August during the organization’s annual conference.
The contest challenged students to design an innovative, out-of-the-box single-family residence, while adhering to stringent city and state building code requirements.
In addition to Moser’s individual success, the National Association of Women in Construction invited and sponsored 12 Palm Beach State architecture students to attend and participate in the regional award ceremony. The experience offered valuable professional exposure and networking opportunities with industry leaders and peers.
According to Associate Professor Ayhan Lambaz, Moser’s work — blending creativity with technical precision — has already set a high standard for peers within Palm Beach State’s drafting and design program.
“Anna has the eye not only to win and represent our program and college, but also a genuine drive to give back to her community,” Lambaz said. “Her success is a powerful reflection of the talent within our program and the high level of design thinking we strive to cultivate.”
Moser’s accomplishment underscores Palm Beach State’s continued commitment to fostering excellence in technical education and preparing students for leadership roles within construction and design industries.
