Parker and NY Golf Club’s Matt Fitzpatrick cut the ribbon on opening day at the SoFi Center.

When TMRW Sports founder and CEO Mike McCarley stood in front of the 250,000 square foot building on Jan. 7 to cut the ribbon in an official opening ceremony, it was the culmination of five years of hard work. "Today is a milestone day," he told the crowd of journalists gathered to witness the official opening of the SoFi Center, the new home to TGL, the tech-infused golf league McCarley founded with professional golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

"We will take TGL to 113 different countries around the world when we tee off tonight," McCarley said. Later that evening, with the inaugural match between TGL's Bay Golf Club and the New York Golf Club, TGL and its partners Palm Beach State College and personal financial technology firm SoFi will be at the forefront of a new era in sports technology.

Palm Beach State College President Ava L. Parker, J.D. described the partnership between the College, TMRW Sports and SoFi a "trifecta."  "It is a real opportunity for us to do amazing things not just for this county not just for our campus but for the entire community," Parker said. "One stroke at a time into a really big screen, TGL will change the lives of my students, the life and trajectory of the College and the sport itself."

For Palm Beach State College, the partnership with TMRW Sports has brought new opportunities.  Several PBSC students have held internship positions with TMRW Sports in areas such as cybersecurity, data engineering and sales and marketing and one has become a full-time employee. As the company continues to expand there are plans for more internships and other opportunities. The College is also looking to expand its curriculum with potential areas under discussion including event management and broadcasting.

"When I was first approached by Mike McCarley to partner in this venture, I saw it as an opportunity, not only would my students get internships and ultimately get jobs and opportunities with TMRW Sports," said Parker. But it was also that TMRW Sports "would infuse so much technology into the campus that we would have an opportunity to offer all kinds of new degree programs and really create what we call a Panther Advanced Technology Hub with TMRW Sports as the very first partner."
