McNeal and Coulter honored by PBC's Office of Community Revitalization
The Belle Glade and Loxahatchee campus Facilities Manager Raymond Coulter and Dr. LaTanya McNeal, executive dean of the Belle Glade campus and dean of student services for the Belle Glade and Loxahatchee Groves campuses, were recently recognized by Palm Beach County's Office of Community Revitalization for their service to the community.
Coulter received the Dedicated Service and Community Award and McNeal was honored with the Outstanding Community Partner Award. The awards were announced at an Office of Community Revitalization luncheon that was held in West Palm Beach in September 2024.
McNeal and Coulter were recognized for their exceptional leadership and partnership in executing the annual Palm Beach County Office of Community Revitalization Back-to-School PBC! event in the Glades, and their profound dedication and efforts in significantly improving the quality of life for Palm Beach County residents.
The Belle Glade campus served for the fourth time on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, as a site for one of the Back-to-School PBC! events spearheaded by the OCR to help K-12 students get ready for the new school year. The event supported 1,360 families. McNeal and Coulter also helped make this event a success each of the three previous times.
“Raymond Coulter’s exceptional leadership and technical expertise were pivotal in ensuring the seamless operational setup for all organizations participating in the Back-to- School PBC! event," said OCR Division Director Houston Tate. "His unwavering dedication and passion for addressing the needs of each student and parent went above and beyond expectations, leaving a lasting impact on the community."
Coulter began working at PBSC in August of 2007 and left the College on Friday, Jan. 10.
"We greatly appreciated Raymond’s dedication and hard work in his role at the College and for going above and beyond to ensure our community partnership events run smoothly and successfully, said McNeal. “Raymond will be greatly missed, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
McNeal was also named the OCR’s 2024 Outstanding Community Partner of the Year (left).
“Dr. LaTanya McNeal's exceptional leadership and dedication have been instrumental in coordinating timely activities, program commitments, and accommodations at Palm Beach State College's Belle Glade campus," said Tate. "Her outstanding administrative skills have ensured unparalleled hospitality for every participating student and their families, leaving a lasting positive impression on higher learning and the Glades community."
Back-to-School PBC! is a countywide initiative that brings together Palm Beach County government, nonprofits, and community organizations to provide over 11,000 students each year with the essential resources they need before the start of school. Supported by a $165,000 contribution from the county and totaling around $450,000 in community resources, this event is a powerful collaborative effort involving over 100 local organizations and more than 1,200 volunteers who dedicated more than 12,000 hours over just two days for setup and execution.
