Cordon Lopez named Coca-Cola Academic Team Member
PBSC student Vianca Cordon Lopez has been named a member of the 2026 Coca-Cola Academic Team and will receive a $1,300 scholarship.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program by recognizing scholars with nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholar also receives a commemorative medallion.
“Vianca’s dedication, leadership and commitment to excellence truly set her apart,” said Daniel Alvarez, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) advisor for the Delta Omicron Chapter at Palm Beach State College. “She is an outstanding student leader who consistently looks for ways to support her peers and contribute to our campus community. We are incredibly proud of her and excited to see her recognized for the impact she is already making on campus and beyond. This honor is very well deserved.”
Cordon Lopez is a second-year mechanical engineering major who ranks among the top 10 percent of her class at PBSC. She serves as vice president of scholarships for the Delta Omicron Chapter of PTK, where she promotes academic excellence and scholarship opportunities among her peers.
Cordon Lopez is also president of the Physics Club and co-chair of the Student Civility Engagement Committee. She is actively involved in Student Government, the Dr. Floyd F. Koch Honors College, TRiO Student Support Services and the Math Club. She also works as a student assistant at the Education Preparation Institute.
Her academic achievement, campus leadership and commitment to service reflect her dedication to engineering and her goal of making a meaningful impact in her field and community.
“I’m incredibly honored to be named to the Coca-Cola Academic Team,” Cordon Lopez said. “Palm Beach State College has given me so many opportunities to grow as a student and a leader, and I’m grateful for the support of my professors, mentors and peers.”
Students are nominated for the academic team by their college administrators. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership and engagement in college and community service.
Coca-Cola Academic Team members will be recognized in both local and statewide ceremonies. They will also be recognized internationally during PTK’s annual convention, PTK Catalyst, in Baltimore, Maryland, March 26-28.
