Palm Beach State goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

PBSC students show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month during the ‘Thursdays We Wear Pink’ event with the pink fire engine on the Lake Worth campus

More than 80 Palm Beach State College staff members and students have participated in turning the Lake Worth campus pink each Thursday this month as part of the college’s “Thursdays We Wear Pink” campaign in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Participants showed their support by donning pink attire and stopping by special awareness tables filled with free giveaways, including pink bracelets, keychains, and informational packets promoting early detection and community education.

The October 23 event welcomed a special guest—the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Team and their iconic Pink Fire Engine.

Student Activities Manager Carlton Morgan shared that the team spoke about the inspiration behind the pink truck and how it has helped spread awareness and support across the county. Students and staff were able to take photos, explore the engine, and connect through shared stories of hope, prevention and recovery.

Afterward, the celebration continued in the Student Activities Lounge, where attendees enjoyed pink cupcakes and heartfelt conversations about how everyone can play a role in the fight against breast cancer.
