Palm Beach State College appoints Geovanni J. Denis, Esq., as General Counsel
Palm Beach State College has appointed Geovanni J. Denis, Esq., as General Counsel, effective immediately. Selected following a comprehensive national search, Denis will provide strategic legal guidance and oversight across all areas of the institution, reinforcing the College’s commitment to integrity, transparency and accountability.

Denis joined Palm Beach State College’s Office of the General Counsel in March 2019 as Associate General Counsel and most recently served as Interim General Counsel. In these roles, he advised the College on a broad range of legal and compliance matters, including contract law, regulatory compliance, litigation, and institutional governance. His proactive, solutions-driven counsel has strengthened Palm Beach State’s legal and operational framework and enhanced institutional effectiveness.
Among his accomplishments, Denis led the implementation of improved systems for legal request management, contract monitoring, and public records administration—initiatives that have advanced efficiency, transparency, and institutional compliance.
Before joining Palm Beach State College, Denis served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of North Miami Beach, where he contributed to collective bargaining negotiations, employment litigation, and legislative drafting. Earlier in his career, he practiced civil litigation in private practice, handling matters such as wage disputes and contract litigation.
Denis earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
