Palm Beach State College Releases Second Edition of PBSC Today

Palm Beach State College has released the second edition of PBSC Today, its flagship publication highlighting student success, innovation, workforce development and community impact across Palm Beach County. The publication is being distributed through direct mail and will be included in this Sunday's edition of The Palm Beach Post, expanding its reach throughout the region. 

"PBSC Today is our way of bringing the community into the life of the College," said Ava L. Parker, JD, president of Palm Beach State College. "The stories featured in this publication reflect the extraordinary work taking place every day across our campuses and throughout our community." 

The cover story spotlights the College's plans to launch Florida's first Quantum Innovation Center for Workforce Development, an initiative designed to prepare students for careers in quantum computing, networking and sensing while positioning Palm Beach County as a leader in the emerging quantum economy.

The magazine also features inspiring stories of student achievement. Readers will meet STEM graduate Emerson Blatché, who transformed his passion for engineering into a career with Lockheed Martin's Flight Test Engineering division. Another standout story follows U.S. Navy veteran Tyler Kollinger, who was accepted into the University of Colorado, where he is pursuing dual majors in Quantum Technology and Japanese. Kollinger credits Palm Beach State College with helping him transform from an aimless gamer into a quantum scholar. 

Additional features highlight the impact of the Stephen M. Ross Scholars Program, which provides eligible graduates of Palm Beach Lakes, and Forest Hilligh schools with a pathway to a debt-free college education through full scholarships to  Palm Beach State College, as well as the  generosity of Julie and John Kime, whose support of student success and workforce education inspired the naming of the Dental and Health Innovation Building at the College's Loxahatchee Groves campus. 

Produced by the College’s Office of Communications and Public Affairs, PBSC Today showcases how students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners are advancing educational attainment, workforce readiness and economic opportunity throughout Palm Beach County and Florida.

PBSC Today provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Panther family while sharing the College's impact on the economic and social vitality of the communities it serves. 

The second edition of PBSC Today is now available online at PBSC.edu/PBSCToday and will thousands of households through direct mail and distribution in The Palm Beach Post.
