Helen M. Salzberg Center for the Arts announces 2026 Koo Family Art Collaborative mentees
The Helen M. Salzberg Center for the Arts at Palm Beach State College has announced the selection of Caitlin Allen and Kamila Diaz as the 2026 Koo Family Art Collaborative Mentees.
Allen, an art historian and practicing photographer, has returned to academic study to deepen her fine art photography practice. With a focus on analog and digital processes, she seeks to explore the intersection of concept and craft. Allen views this mentorship as an opportunity to strengthen her technical foundation and refine her creative direction toward a professional career in the arts.
Diaz, an art education student, is passionate about both creating and teaching art. Her work spans photography and mixed media, reflecting themes of identity, emotion, and personal growth. Through the mentorship, she aims to continue evolving her artistic voice while preparing for a future career as an art educator and practicing artist.
As part of the program, the mentees will work alongside 2026 Helen M. Salzberg Visiting Artist Diane Arrieta during the Spring semester. They will assist with Arrieta’s solo exhibition and art workshop at the Helen M. Salzberg Gallery, participate in studio visits with local artists, engage with curators, and develop personal projects under Arrieta’s guidance.
