Palm Beach State College Campus Safety Sargeant Precious Pace has been awarded the Palm Beach State College Impact Award for her commitment and dedication to serving the Belle Glade campus and its students and staff by the Belle Glade Chamber of Commerce.

Impact Award candidates in the education category showcase a commitment to student success and show support for campus enrollment and inclusivity, making the campus environment a safe and welcoming place for all. They also must have compassion for all students, especially those who are underserved.

“Precious co-leads campus safety drills, serves on the Executive Deans Council, is one of the first smiling faces students, faculty and guests see when they arrive to campus, and volunteers to help recruit prospective students from the Glades to PBSC because she believes in the power and life-changing impact that education will make on individuals’ lives,” said Dr. LaTanya McNeal, executive dean of the Belle Glade campus and dean of student services for the Belle Glade and Loxahatchee Groves campuses, who nominated her for the award. “Her value to the College, and to our students, faculty and staff is priceless.”

Pace started at PBSC as a security dispatcher in 2013. While working, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration,  and later completed the nail technician certificate program for her personal entrepreneurial pursuits.

Pace has served on the planning committee for Palm Beach County’s Office of Community Revitalization’s annual Back-to-School event held for the past four years at the Belle Glade campus, which supports over 1,200 students annually and their families in the Glades.

According to her colleagues, she is always willing to help her coworkers and work closely with new employees to ensure their success. She is also always looking for ways to streamline processes and is always willing to share her ideas with her peers.
