The award is the second highest award and recognizes a delegation for its overall performance and excellence at the conference. The PBSC delegation, which represented Bolivia, was among over 357 colleges and universities who participated. Student delegations engaged in mock diplomacy, research, negotiation, and public speaking, representing various nations and participating in committee discussions on global issues. The delegation, which represented Bolivia, is comprised of the following eight students as well as faculty advisor Alex Bruno: Tomas Leon, Marjelie Pierre Etienne, Denisha Cadet, Joshua Aarons, Isabelle Kennedy, Jules Goforth, Tobiasz Sawczuk, and Marlon Marin. "I thank PBSC for the opportunity to serve and the students for this amazing privilege to learn from and grow with them, " said Bruno. "The NMUN has been among the most rewarding professional engagement in my tenure." Also having a rewarding experience was Leon, who served as the head delegate. "Working alongside passionate students from all around the world reminded me just how powerful collaboration, empathy and diplomacy can be. It was beautiful to witness people from different cultures, languages, and perspectives come together with one shared goal: to better understand global challenges and to explore how we, as future leaders, can be part of the change." Another delegate Pierre Etienne said participating in this conference was the highlight of her time at PBSC. "I got to work alongside amazing peers from across the world to craft solutions to world problems. NMUN allowed me to sharpen the skills I’ve learned at PBSC such as public speaking, diplomacy and collaboration. I came out of this program with a better understanding of what I want my academic and career path to look like. I am deeply grateful to PBSC for this incredible opportunity." In addition to delegates gaining experience in public speaking, negotiating and parliamentary procedures, delegate Goforth said the experience broadened her perspective of life outside the United States. Before the NYC delegation, my view of Earth was narrowly based, limiting my experience to the United States as life for everyone. Meeting and working with people from countries like Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Russia broadened my perspective and made me more open to new ideas and experiences. I could never have done this without PBSC, and I will continue to expand my knowledge and dedication to international diplomacy." The NMUN is the world's largest, most prestigious, most diverse, and oldest ongoing university-level Model UN. Palm Beach State has participated in this conference for the past 10 years.
