Lake Worth Beach and Lox Groves recognize PBSC’s 90th anniversary year

Palm Beach State College received special proclamations recognizing its 90th anniversary from the City of Lake Worth Beach and the Town of Loxahatchee Groves during city and town council meetings on June 6.

Accepting the honor on behalf of the College from City of Lake Worth Beach Mayor Betty Resch was Provost of the Lake Worth campus Barbara Cipriano.

Joining her was Matthew Lenihan, business and community relations director; Deborah Gordon, corporate and continuing education director; and Angela Harrington, chief communications and public affairs officer.

During the Lake Worth Beach meeting, the proclamation, which talked about PBSC’s history, degrees, and its many talented and skilled graduates, was read aloud by Resch who also noted that both her brother and niece were proud PBSC graduates of the College’s fire and police academies.

Accepting the honor on behalf of the College from the Town of Loxahatchee Groves Mayor Laura Danowski was Dean of Academic Affairs Kimberly Lancaster. Joining her from PBSC was Student Activities Manager Cynedra Blake, Student Learning and Testing Center Manager Barbie Edgar, and Dean of Health Sciences Edward Willey.

Other proclamations will be presented recognizing PBSC’s historic anniversary from the Town of Jupiter on June 20, the Town of Mangonia Park June 27 and the Village of Royal Palm Beach July 13.

Throughout the year, PBSC will celebrate its 90th anniversary milestone with activities such as campus celebrations, open houses, innovation initiatives and capital projects. Stories will spotlight the achievements of alumni, students, faculty, staff and community partners on the College’s website. Social media posts and special events will use the hashtag #PBSC90th.
